The Lobbyists Registration Actessentially requires individuals to self-identify when they or their organization engage in activities that constitute lobbying and requires registration.  To assist in this assessment and the registration process, the Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists has developed a set of Advisory Bulletins on specific subject matters.

In drafting these bulletins, the Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists has attempted to find practical answers to common questions about the Act.  The information in these Advisory Bulletins intends to  support the objective of the legislation––to shed light on who is trying to influence actions or decisions of governments within the boundaries of the definition of “lobbying”, and avoid capturing the normal interactions that the legislation does not purport to regulate.

These Bulletins are for advisory purposes only and cannot and should not be relied upon as legal or other advice.  These Advisory Bulletins do not bind or fetter the Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists in interpreting or applying the Act.
