I can’t remember my BCeID. What do I do?

Although the Lobbyists Registry Application provides its users with a link to the BCeID Online Service website so they can register for a BCeID, the BCeID Online Service and the Lobbyists Registry Application are two separate entities. Unfortunately, the Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists cannot assist you with BCeID account issues. Similarly, the BCeID Online Service cannot assist you with lobbying issues.

It is important to remember that a business BCeID is assigned to the organization and not to the person who obtained the BCeID on behalf of the organization.

As such, when you register for your BCeID account, it is imperative that you remember your BCeID and password. If you forget your BCeID, it is difficult, if not impossible, to obtain this information from the BCeID Online Service.

The Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists suggests that you keep your BCeID and password in the same folder as your Lobbyists Registry Application information.

If you are the designated filer (either because you are the senior officer for an organizations or a consultant lobbyist) and require a business BCeID, do not have a designate register for your business BCeID account. If you do, you are contravening the terms and conditions of use set out by the BCeID program. Only the CEO is permitted to register for a business BCeID account.

Furthermore, if the designate who registered for your business BCeID account leaves your employ or organization without passing the BCeID and password on to his/her successor, it will be difficult, if not impossible, for the successor to obtain this information from the BCeID Help Desk.

Instead, you will have to register for a new basic BCeID. Furthermore, your new basic BCeID and password will not allow you to access your registration in the Lobbyists Registry Application, so you will have to re-enter all the information from your current registration in a new registration.
