Several areas of interest affect the lives homeless people and those in danger of becoming homeless, and the Kamloops Homelessness Action Plan approaches housing from a holistic perspective. Housing itself, employment, health care, and support services all affect the lives of homeless individuals. As such, several areas of policy reformation will be discussed with provincial representatives.

We are working on considering a tax incentive system for the creation of affordable rental housing. While this initiative is in the early stages of development we have had preliminary discussions with our MLA's staff and will continue discussing the subject.

We are working with our local MLA's offices to consider income asisstance earning exemptions and the repercussions for individuals at-risk of homelessness. We have prepared a letter that we will eventually be forwarding to other areas of government including the Ministry of Children and Family Development and the Ministry of Social Development.
