Introductory meeting following a new appointment, transfer or broadening of senior public office holder's responsibilities for the purposes of providing a high level overview and brief discussion of priorities and interests of the mining sector. This could include carbon tax and the low carbon industrial strategy, the provincial review of mine permitting, the implementation of the Environmental Assessment Act and/or various Federal-Provincial agreements and regulations.

This includes the development of Federal Coal Mine Effluent Regulations, revisions to the federal Species at Risk Act, the implementation of the Canada-BC Conservation Agreement for Southern Mountain Caribou, and the implementation of the federal Fisheries Act.
