Greg Wilson met (virtually) with Laurel Nash and Sonya Sundberg to discuss the legitimate refusals by workers to do unsafe work during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact of this on mandatory return-to-retail. This was the subject of earlier meetings at MOECC’s request. They discussed environmental outcomes of local government single-use bylaws (also an ongoing topic of communication between the Ministry and RCC). Finally, they discussed delays in approval of stewardship plans and stewardship plan amendments, which retailers are concerned will have negative impacts on B.C.’s EPR model (not discussed previously, and raised by RCC).
