The MMIC and COHV funds and promotes rider training and safety research. In particular, the MMIC provides logistical and financial support for recognized rider training programs across Canada. Road safety strategies should be focused on a progressive improvement of both road safety policy and practice. The industry believes that the most sustainable route to safer motorcycling lies within taking a comprehensive approach to safety policy and practice, based on a ¿shared responsibility¿ approach. In order to realize this and ensure that safety is managed with an even hand and on a level playing field, the first and most important step is to recognize motorcycling¿s place within society and overall transport strategies.
