Description of Activities
The purpose of the BC Grain Producers Association (BCGPA) is to improve the viability of the grains and oilseed industry in the BC particularly in the Peace River Region. The Association and its members maintain sustain liaisons with other agencies to educate, inform and advocate for grain and oilseed producer (growers) in BC. The main business activity is providing extension services to growers through regionally relevant research. The BC Grain Producers Association is comprised of grain and oilseed producers, from British Columbia. The Association represents farmers from all over the province, with the bulk of our members located in the Peace Region, in Northeastern BC. Currently we represent approx. 250 grains and oil seed producers which spans over 350,000 acres. Our vison statement for the future of our organization “Grain producers in BC are profitable, sustainable, and recognized as providers of safe, high-quality food.”
