With the 2015 amendments to the Natural Products Marketing Act, the regulated poultry boards and commission have the authority to require licenced producers to have proof of disease insurance. Working with the four poultry boards and commission to conduct the requisite due diligence and stakeholder engagement to support independent decisions by each of the boards and commission to implement or not mandatory disease insurance requirements. The decisions of the poultry boards and commission will also need to be vetted through the BC Farm Industry Review Board for approval.
