The Burnaby refinery is working to ensure the tax and environmental policy regimes are competitive for capital investment especially considering the refinery is currently trade exposed. More broadly our advocacy efforts are intended to educate politicians and civil servants on the importance of the Chevron refinery to the provincial economic infrastructure. Our advocacy strategy includes government education on trade exposed industries and the process by which competitiveness impacts of carbon tax and other fiscal burdens are determined.
