Lobbying Activities

Energy

Arranging meeting between an individual and a public office holder for purpose of lobbying

. BC Bioenergy Network is a not-for-profit organization that was created by the Government of British Columbia in 2008 via the BC Bioenergy Strategy. In establishing BCBN, the Province deliberately set up the organization to be at arms length from Government. Although BCBN is not required to report on its activities to any Ministry or Public Agency we do, on occasion, contact the Ministers (and Ministries) listed on our re-registration. The main reasons for such contact are to inform the Ministers about projects that may be of interest to them; we also often invite Ministers to be part of different events that we are hosting or in which we are participating. At the present time and in the near future, we anticipate meetings with the Ministers and public servants listed on our re-registration that will focus upon additional funding from the Province that will permit BCBN to continue its investment activities. In the interest of transparency and thorough disclosure, we believe it is best to be listed in good standing with the BC Lobbyists Registry.
