The Confederation of University Faculty Associations of BC (CUFA BC) lobbies the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training on matters of university governance via the University Act and Royal Roads University Act. The goal of lobbying this subject matter is to amend these acts to see increased role for faculty representation within senates and boards of governors.	Introduction, amendment, passage or defeat of any Bill or resolution in or before the Legislative Assembly Development or enactment of any regulation, including the enactment of a regulation for the purposes of amending or repealing a regulation Development, establishment, amendment or termination of any program, policy, directive or guideline of the government of British Columbia or a Provincial entity	Advanced Education, Colleges & Universities, Labour/Labour Relations
We advocate to government representatives, research university administrators, and the public on issues related to - stable, predictable funding to research universities from government. - improving faculty inclusion in university governance under the University Act. - informing the Advanced Education and Skills Training funding model review. - informing the development and implementation of micro-credentials.	Development of any legislative proposal by the government of British Columbia, a Provincial entity or a member of the Legislative Assembly Introduction, amendment, passage or defeat of any Bill or resolution in or before the Legislative Assembly Development or enactment of any regulation, including the enactment of a regulation for the purposes of amending or repealing a regulation Development, establishment, amendment or termination of any program, policy, directive or guideline of the government of British Columbia or a Provincial entity	Advanced Education, Colleges & Universities, Employment and Training, Finances and Budgets, Financial Institutions, Labour/Labour Relations

Represent the interests of university faculty associations and their 5,500 members at BC's five research universities, including University of Northern British Columbia, University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, University of Victoria, and Royal Roads University. CUFA BC's broad objectives are: 1. To promote faculty members' interests to the provincial government. 2. To provide services to member faculty associations as requested. 3. To promote the value of post-secondary education, academic freedom, and research to the wider public. CUFA BC also informs public policy and produces timely research and policy analysis in the areas of core funding, collective bargaining, and shared and collegial governance.
