Description of Activities:
The Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver (EFry) is a registered charity that supports criminalized and marginalized women, girls and children in achieving their potential. A) We provide support to women in prison and exiting prison, and at risk of coming in conflict with the criminal justice system; through B) services to ameliorate their lives and reduce the likelihood of involvement or recidivism through supports and programs for income and employment, counselling and mental health, homelessness and housing, and substance use and harm reduction. C) EFry meets, consults, and recommends to government actions and service models that are responsive to the intersectional lives of these marginalized women and children (race, disability, poverty, and all the correlated population health factors) and can improve their lives, that of their children, and the community. We believe civil society and government is advanced through active engagement by, and with, the voluntary sector.
