Support for the Northern Wild Sheep and Goat Council's position statement on commercial and recreational disturbance of mountain goats - specifically the disturbance from light helicopters should not occur within 1.5-2.0 km of winter and kidding habitat or mineral licks, depending on the local context or human safety considerations. Additional setbacks should be considered where the use of medium and heavy helicopters are proposed. Industrial scale mining activity should not occur within 1.8 km of mountain goat winter habitat.
