a letter outlining a number of issues the non-profit sector has identified in the sector’s efforts to navigate and comply with the Lobby a letter outlining a number of issues the non-profit sector has identified in the sector’s efforts to navigate and comply with the Lobby Transparency Act. 56 organizations have joined us in this call (listed below and in the letter), and another 42 are in support but have chosen to support anonymously given the lack of clarity about whether or not their support obliges them to register. We realize that the election limits your activity, but we would like to arrange a meeting for representatives of the sector to discuss this with you. Our core concern is the undue burden the legislation puts on our sector, one that is structured to advance public, not private interests and has had the effect of silencing organizations that can help the government advance its own goals and aspirations for the province.
