ARC was asked by the Oil and Gas Commission (OGC) to review the proposed regulation on induced seismicity that is being recommended for either Q4 of 2020 or Q1 2021. As part of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) committee for BC Induced Seismicity (IS), we met with the OGC to give our feed back and changes to to the proposed regulations. Our feedback included if proposed regulations are fit for purpose both operationally and technically before they are formalized in regulation. We have worked with the OGC to develop the required submissions, the workflow expectations and the wording and definitions (as well as removal of some clauses) in the upcoming regulation.
