Advocacy related to the diverse issues specific to the non-profit community social services sector that affect the way a non-profit is able to function or the services and programs that it is delivering to address a specific social need in a specific community. In the first category, these issues may include recruitment and retention, wage equity, support for Indigenous-led community organizations, working conditions, administrative supports and human resources, or the wide range of social issues that Board Voice advocates for from time to time on behalf of British Columbians receiving or wanting to receive community-based social services. In terms of services and programs, Board Voice advocates on issues that may include homelessness and affordable housing, domestic violence, the intersection of intimate partner violence and brain injury, children's health and development, safer drug supply, children in care, and other emerging or persistent social concerns.
