Diabetes Canada recommends that the government of British Columbia support the implementation of the Diabetes Framework for Canada that was tabled in Parliament on October 5, 2022. Diabetes Canada asks the government of British Columbia, the Minister of Health in particular, the official opposition and individual MLAs to support its implementation by committing to and implementing a comprehensive provincial diabetes strategy that aligns with the Framework, but is unique to the needs of British Columbians.

Diabetes Canada's recommendation for a provincial strategy is to curb the diabetes epidemic by improving diabetes prevention, screening, treatment, and health outcomes.
