Earthjustice collected online messages from individuals concerned about the government of British Columbia’s violations of the rights of Indigenous peoples in southeast Alaska who are impacted by proposed and existing mining projects along rivers that cross the Canada–U.S. border. On November 6, 2025 Earthjustice delivered 22,757 messages to Hon. David Eby, Hon. Niki Sharma, and Hon. Spencer Chandra Herbert of the BC Legislative Assembly, with the intended outcome of pausing approvals for mining projects along the Alaska-BC transboundary rivers until BC regulators secure the free, prior, and informed consent of downstream Tribal Nations.
