Outfitting started in the mid-1800s with Tahltan First Nations being the first to host tourists on hunting expeditions. Today, more than 30 First Nations (or First Nations peoples) own outfitting businesses. This puts outfitters in a unique place to help advance reconciliation. FLNRORD is helping both First Nations to build capacity and relations in a guide mentoring initiative.
  • Awarding, amendment or termination of any contract, grant or financial benefit by or on behalf of the government of British Columbia or a Provincial entity
Conservation, Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation
Softening of the International borders, when safe to do so. Support the Alternate Self Isolation Plan - allowing low risk clients to self isolate while participating in the tourism expedition they are coming to BC to do, simultaneously. Also to allow the international client to leave Canada in less than 14-days. This would be done consistent with the industry Best Practices and all Provincial Health Officer's orders and guidelines.
  • Development or enactment of any regulation, including the enactment of a regulation for the purposes of amending or repealing a regulation
