With the announcement of CleanBC, BC needs to ensure there are enough appropriately trained journeyperson electricians in the province to do the work required to reduce our climate footprint. Intended outcomes: Increase funding for equipment and new classrooms to increase the number of electrical apprentice seats in B.C.; adopt integrated system to accurately test incoming apprentices/journeypersons to B.C. standards, work with the government to support newcomers to BC in having their credentials recognized, and introduce them into the SkilledTradesBC system where appropriate.
