Small Business Property Tax Fairness We believe this government has the political will to assist small business around these escalating tax concerns and wish to collaborate with you on an outcome that would be palatable for everyone. Our core mandates are as follows: 1) Re-instatement of the business vote 2) Highest and Best Use (HBU) – Local Independent Business Proposals: A) Class 10 - Properties valued at HBU with an existing business license qualify for a 50% rebate in the school tax share of the tax bill. B) Class 10 - Properties valued at HBU with an existing business license qualify for a tax rate of 25% less than class 6. (Reduction of both the Provincial and Municipal tax.)
