The Confederation of University Faculty Associations of BC (CUFA BC) lobbies the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training on matters of university governance via the University Act and Royal Roads University Act. The goal of lobbying this subject matter is to amend these acts to see increased role for faculty representation within senates and boards of governors.
Introduction, amendment, passage or defeat of any Bill or resolution in or before the Legislative Assembly, Development or enactment of any regulation, including the enactment of a regulation for the purposes of amending or repealing a regulation, Development, establishment, amendment or termination of any program, policy, directive or guideline of the government of British Columbia or a Provincial entity
Advanced Education, Colleges & Universities, Labour/Labour Relations
We advocate to government representatives, research university administrators, and the public on issues related to - stable, predictable funding to research universities from government. - improving faculty inclusion in university governance under the University Act. - informing the Advanced Education and Skills Training funding model review. - informing the development and implementation of micro-credentials.
