ISSofBC sent a letter to the Assistant Deputy Minister for Post-Secondary Policy & Programs Ministry of Post-Secondary Education & Future Skills, Chris Rathbone, regarding Student Enrollment Update & Request for Changes to Attestation Letter Process. ISSofBC is requesting for the consideration of the following options: 1. Extending the expiration date of the attestation letters allocated to our institution until 2026, or; 2. Maintaining the same allocation of attestation letters for schools in 2024 into 2025. 3. Implementing a reward system for private post-secondary institutions with exemplary records, such as considering the length of accreditation without compliance issues and maintaining stable, sustainable enrollment, prior to the allocation of attestation letters.

ISSofBC submitted briefing note to Premier Chief of Staff to advocate for a dedicated provincial Ministry of Immigration, Multiculturalism and Antiracism which will provide the province with the ability to ensure that immigration is an integral part of the province’s priorities, including COVID-19 economic recovery and anti-racism work. The letter also highlights the need for BC to develop a 5-year provincial Immigration Plan with a vision; projections and forecasting of future immigration needs and impacts on communities/regions throughout the province.
