YLFMS will advocate for strong, sufficiently resourced and sustainable farmers markets to support BC food security, regional economic development and consumer demand for products grown and produced locally in BC sold by agrifood vendors and small businesses through direct, farmers market sales channels. Advocacy will include the need for provincial urban policies that support farmers market development in the midst of competing municipal demands (including location, design, management, promotion and funding).
