The Confederation of University Faculty Associations of BC (CUFA BC) lobbies the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training on matters of university governance via the University Act and Royal Roads University Act. The goal of lobbying this subject matter is to amend these acts to see increased role for faculty representation within senates and boards of governors.

We are participating in the post-secondary sustainability review consultation overseen by the Ministry PSFS. The initial process involves meeting with an independent consultant and providing recommendations for restructuring institutions, potential legislative changes, and redressing funding. We will also make written submission, participate in follow-up meetings as needed, and respond to the final recommendations once these are made to government.

We participated in the public consultation on the Lobbyists Transparency Act with the Special Committee to Review the Lobbyists Transparency Act. Our purpose was to recommend changes to the Act that better supported the interests of small non-profit societies.
