CCUA is undertaking activities to encourage government partnerships with other provincial jurisdictions to allow provincially regulated credit unions to operate in other jurisdictions. Currently, legislative provisions exist in B.C. to permit this activity, but no agreement has been reached.

The Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) is seeking changes to the capital framework for BC credit unions from the BC Financial Services Authority (BC FSA). CCUA will lobby for regulatory relief (from proposed capital modernization regulations) in order to maintain flexibility in providing support to to regional economic initiatives, financing social housing and advancing indigenous economic reconciliation.
