BC needs to ensure there are enough appropriately trained journeyperson electrical workers to complete the significant construction required to build new clean power generation facilities, transmission lines and other grid infrastructure. Intended outcomes: Increase funding for equipment and new classrooms to increase the number of electrical apprentice seats in B.C.; adopt integrated system to accurately test incoming apprentices/journeypersons to B.C. standards, work with the government to support newcomers to BC in having their credentials recognized.
