Description of Business Activities
Non for profit organization that is a Canadian grassroots movement of people with disabilities led by people with disabilities. We are building a unified national movement supported by families, friends, allies and organizations. Our shared goal is ending disability poverty in Canada. After our successful advocacy campaign for getting Bill C-22 passed into law, our next steps are to push for the Canada Disability Benefit to be budgeted in a way that lifts people with disabilities out of poverty. Additionally, we seek to ensure people with disabilities are fully consulted, and their issues brought up when shaping the benefit during regulations. We are supported by private and community foundations to preserve our independence and ability to advocate and partner with the government.
