ORL Social Media Policy

Our privacy policy applies to the use of social media by this office.

The Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists for British Columbia uses social media to share news and engage citizens, public bodies and private organizations in a conversation about lobbying and registration requirements.

Our Bluesky account @orlbc.bsky.social and our LinkedIn page are managed by communications staff on behalf of the ORL.

We update and monitor our Bluesky account and LinkedIn page on weekdays during office hours (8:30am to 4:30pm), but we may monitor and respond at other times of the day.

Content

Through our Bluesky and LinkedIn accounts, we aim to keep you informed about the activities of our office, as well as recent developments in lobbying. Our content includes:

  • news releases, speeches, and other publications issued by our office;
  • guidance and tips about lobbying in BC;
  • information about upcoming events.

We repost content we think may be relevant to our work and of interest to our followers. Reposts do not imply endorsement by the ORL.

Following/Followers

We follow Bluesky accounts and LinkedIn pages that are relevant to our work and our mandate. This could include the Bluesky accounts and LinkedIn pages of individuals as well as organizations, public and private, who comment on lobbying issues. Our decision to follow a particular Bluesky user or LinkedIn page does not imply an endorsement of any kind.
