The Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists is committed to transparent, accountable lobbying in British Columbia. Here you will find regularly updated open data sets on Lobbying Registration Returns and Lobbying Activity Reports in British Columbia. The use of the data sets on this website is subject to the Open Data Licence Agreement – Office of the Registrar of Lobbyists for British Columbia (ORL).
Both datasets below provide primary compressed files containing secondary files in CSV format. Also available for both are data dictionary files, which provide definitions for all data elements contained within the dataset.
Lobbying Registration Returns
Consultant lobbyists and organizations that have in-house lobbyists are required to file a Registration Return within 10 days of beginning to lobby a public office holder. This dataset contains all lobbying Registration Returns filed with the ORL since 2010 and is updated monthly.

Lobbying Activity Reports
Consultant lobbyists and organizations that have in-house lobbyists are required to disclose specific instances of lobbying communications with senior public office holders in British Columbia. These Lobbying Activity Reports must be filed no later than 15 days after the end of the month in which the lobbying activity occurred. The requirement to file Lobbying Activity Reports came into effect on May 4, 2020. This dataset contains all Lobbying Activity Reports filed with the ORL since that time and is updated monthly.
